Article Summary

To create a new connection between Dr. Know and another product ('Product X’), open the Dr. Know Admin product and run the following tool:

Integration -> Connections

Add a new connection and give it a name that represents the product you will be connecting (i.e. ‘Product X').

Service Authentication

After your connection has been configured, you will need to install a Relay Server (you will learn more about this later) that will run your connection in real-time. This software requires access to your Dr. Know Subscription. To enable this access, you must create a Dr. Know user with the 'Service' role assignment. Enter this username into the Service Username field.

Notifications

If you would like to receive daily summary and error notifications, specify a Support Email or Mobile #. This feature is designed to help your IT administrators be proactive regarding the health of your connections once they are up and running. This feature requires a live Internet connection in order to deliver these notifications.

Activation / Deactivation

The Active checkbox indicates whether the connection is active. If for some reason in the future, you need to temporarily or permanently disable this connection, simply check this box.

Deleting connections is not recommended since you may want to reference them or re-activate them in the future.

Saving Changes

Whenever you make changes to your connection's properties and / or configuration, you must save your changes in order for them to take affect. Changes take affect immediately.

Backups

It is strongly recommended that you backup your connections once they are working as expected. This can help the recovery process if there are any accidental changes with unwanted side-effects in the future. If you need help restoring a connection from a backup, please contact our support team.

When ready to begin the configuration of your connection, click Configure.
