# ping

### ping

Responds with a simple pong response.

### Input Parameters

### Returns

No return value.

### Examples

```
// ping the runtime - a 'pong' response is returned
var response = debug.ping();
debug.log(response);
```

### Remarks

This is not a very useful function, but can be used to verify basic communications with the app runtime.
