# nowUtc

### tools.nowUtc

Type: **DateTime**

Returns the current date and time in [Coordinated Universal Time](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time) ([UTC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time)) format.

### Examples

```
// display the current UTC date and time in the debugger
debug.log(tools.nowUtc);
```
