# dateUtc

### tools.dateUtc

Type: **DateTime**

Returns the current date in [Coordinated Universal Time](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time) ([UTC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time)).

### Examples

```
// display the current UTC date in the debugger
debug.log(tools.dateUtc);
```

### Remarks

This is the current date in [Coordinated Universal Time](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time) ([UTC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time)) format.
